The ability to massively digitize microscopic slides opens the door to apply Artificial Intelligence techniques to the analysis of tissue microsections. In the field of wood anatomy, this will speed up the process of identifying and measuring vessels, parenchyma rays and other microscopical structures. This project will finance the acquisition of a high-resolution platform for semiautomatic digitizing of microscopic slides, which will enable Cambium Group to assess the effects of environmental variations on wood anatomy. Moreover, the inclusion of this infrastructure in Castilla y León Infrared network will open this technique to the research community of the whole region.
